Multi-Species Fishing Tournament

Multi-Species Fishing Tournament written by Clyde Lobb

The third annual multi-species fishing tournament on Table Rock Lake, sponsored by the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018. This is a fun tournament designed for all fishing abilities and ages. Entrants are encouraged to fish with family members or friends. A multi-species tournament is a different type of event intended to attract anglers with interest in the many different species of game fish available on Table Rock Lake.

The take-off and “measure-in” will be held at Kings River Marina south of Shell Knob. Take-off is at 8:00 am and the measure-in will be at the marina at 2:00 pm. Once registered, two-member teams can fish from boats anywhere on Table Rock. The entry fee is $40.00 per team. There is also an optional 100% payback longest fish pot. Cash prizes will be awarded for the first and second place teams. There will be a drawing after the measure-in for several valuable prizes donated by area businesses.

Species included in the tournament are black bass, white bass, walleye, catfish, crappie and panfish. There is a limited number of fish that can be measured for each species. Winners will be determined by the total length of fish presented at the measure-in. There will be a special award for any team presenting a legal fish from each of the six species categories.

Registration forms are available at the Shell Knob Chamber office, at area businesses and All tournament rules are included on the registration form.

What might win this tournament- one big catfish, some nice bass, or several panfish? The only way to know is to enter and fish for everything Table Rock has to offer. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the “measure-in” at Kings River Marina on Saturday, May 19 at 2:00 pm.
